ACI Sport Marshal Course

The weekend of 24th and 25th of February saw as protagonist those who for the first time got closer to the marshal figure for car racing.

The course promoted by Associazione Ufficiali di Gara di Firenze and managed by the Automobile Club Firenze dedicated to the training of this figure was held in the press room of the Mugello Circuit.

On Saturday 24th February, Cristiana Riva, Race Director of Rally and Hill Climb Competition, provided the basic notions to carry out competently the competitions of these specialties, with clarifications on safety issues.

On Sunday 25 February, the topics relating to Circuit Racing were discussed by Antonio Canu, permanent Race Director of the Mugello Circuit and president of our association. To complete the training, the intervention of Doctor Remo Barbagli, Chief Medical Officer at the Mugello Circuit, who illustrated the importance of collaboration between Marshals and medical staff, indicating what are the duties of a Marshal in presence are of traumatized drivers and which ones are the exclusive responsibility of medical personnel.

At the end, the participants took an exam, which everyone passed with good results.
